Hello there!My name is Thomas Raaß.
I'm a self-proclaimed illustrator with a passion for graphic, character and conceptual design, based in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.For as long as I can remember, I have loved making art. Having already developed an interest in design, photography and filmmaking as a small child, I hope I will be lucky enough to make a career from those passions and create something new everyday!Through my work as a hobby artist, I´ve done some personal freelance work like illustrations or caricatures for friends and several other clients and could gain experience in different image editing programs like Adobe Photoshop.My primary discipline is in traditional art and drawing with pencils, ink and Copic markers.
I love working traditionally more than anything else, not only because of the look and feel of pencil or marker work on a piece of paper or canvas, but also because of the general handmade nature of traditional artworks.
They aren't easily reproduced, each artwork is truly a one-of-a-kind piece, unlike a digital creation that can be reproduced and shared instantly.But I'm also open to digital art and the possibilities it offers compared to traditional art. That's why I even plan to extend my drawing skills more to digital platforms in the very near future.I'm currently working on some small personal projects, as well as approaching a degree program in media design at the end of the year.
